MyCricket Online Registration is a convenient way for participants to register themselves to their cricket club. This Online Registration service is a simple, time-saving, secure and easy to use system for administrators and players, which is available on www.playcricket.com.au 24/7.
Participants enter their own details, including any extra information you specify. No more reading illegible handwriting or tracking down lost paperwork. This improves the accuracy of information captured which is then automatically added to your MyCricket Person List, meaning no further need for administrators to upload participant details manually!
Reporting tools will also help you manage your online registrations and reconcile payments.
Benefits include:
- Ability for parents to register their kids 24/7
- Administration time savings due to reduction in data entry
- Increased level of information accuracy
- Allowing the utilisation of the full functionality of updated MyCricket apps
- No need for registration days – clubs can spend the time providing other services or bringing people together for the purpose of “getting to know your club and team”
- Better player management in subsequent years – clubs can more easily target/identify returning or new participants
- Clubs can better report and understand their participants
- Better communication with participants due to accurate collection of email and other information
How does it work?
Clubs can setup the registration categories they wish to make available, including setting the fee for each category.
Clubs can direct participants to the following areas to register and or pay via www.playcricket.com.au:
- the National Club Finder tool,
- a link on the Club website.
It is suggested that your club provides a link on your own club website to the online registration login page. This will drive traffic to your website and ensure an easier experience for your players.
Once on the registration page, participants select whether they are a new or existing player, choose their registration type and enter their details.
Participant details are checked against your existing MyCricket participant list. Administrators will be notified by email of all online registrations, so you are fully aware of who has registered.
MyCricket stores all the information entered so you can run reports on who has paid and who hasn’t. You can also manually update the payment status of players who pay using cash or cheque directly into MyCricket.
How do I set this up for my club?
Custom fields are available so you can collect additional information from your participants as part of the registration process.
Once your custom registration types / products and forms are setup, communications can be sent to your players and participants to register online through the website address that is provided as part of the Online Registration setup.
Administrators are notified by email of all online registrations, so you are fully aware of who has registered and when and manual updates can be made to the payment status of players who pay using cash or cheque directly into MyCricket giving you an accurate listing of all registrations and payments at your fingertips.
What does Cricket Australia do with the data collected?
The collection of better data allows Cricket Australia to better service the grassroots community. Cricket Australia uses the de-identified data to better understand the health of clubs and cricket in geographical regions. This information is then used to implement strategies and initiatives with associations, clubs and local councils to ensure that appropriate facilities, resources and support is provided to clubs.
Online registration allows Australian Cricket to better service grassroots cricket by leveraging information collected during the online registration process. For instance, the information collected as part of online registration will improve the experience participants will have with the new MyCricket mobile app. Stay tuned for more information on the new MyCricket app which will be released before the start of the season.
Can participants also pay online with their registration?
Including payments as part of Online Registration is an optional feature but the benefits include:
- Easy for players and parents to make secure payments online
- Clubs receive payment directly into the club’s nominated bank account (in bulk once a week)
- Removes the handling of cash
- Transaction reports are available in MyCricket
This service is free for Clubs and Centres to activate and there are no ongoing Club costs but there is a standard service fee of 1.95% (including GST) collected from each individual payment transaction.
The service fee amount is in line with similar industry services and standards. The service fee is automatically calculated and collected from each individual payment processed.
Clubs can choose to incorporate or absorb the fees when they setup their registration types and amounts and participants must use a Visa or MasterCard credit card to make their individual payment.
